The Arc Minnesota & Arc's Value Village Welcome Groups!

Groups of families, friends, co-workers, classmates or any combination of these are welcome to volunteer.  Arc's Value Village is the best group opportunity as groups are always welcome and needed.   To learn about group volunteer opportunities outside of Arc's Value Village, contact the volunteer department at volunteernow@arcminnesota.org.  Someone will be in touch to share options.

Types of Groups

Arc's Value Village accepts youth, vocational, retiree, corporate, school and a host of other group types.  We accept groups with volunteers aged 8 to 14 years and require a 1 adult to 6 children ratio.  Individuals aged 15+ do not need an adult chaperone to volunteer with them.  Please refer to our Youth Volunteering page for more information before signing up a youth group.

Group Volunteering

Groups are 2 or more people.  Groups with 10 individuals or less can self-register their group to volunteer.  Learn how to self-register a group below.

Groups of 12 individuals or more, please complete the Group Volunteer interest Form below.  We will be be in touch to discuss how we can have your group volunteer with us!  

How to Self-Register a Volunteer Group

• Log in or create an Arc Volunteer Account. 
• You must have an Arc Volunteer Account to self-register your group.
• Learn how to register at https://www.volunteerforarc.org/user/register/.
• One person will be designated as the Group Lead.
• The Group Lead will create and register their group.
• See below for details on how to Access, Manage and Add Others to Your Volunteer Group.

Selecting Your Arc's Value Village Volunteer Opportunity

• Select the program you wish to volunteer for (Bloomington, Richfield or New Hope).
• Select the date and shift time you wish to volunteer for.
• If you are a returning group, select the group name you previously volunteered with.
• If you are new group, you will create and type in your Group's Name. To do this:
  • Click Add Me -  Assign yourself as Group Leader.  This will give you the option to edit your team’s volunteer count after registering for your shift. 
  • Reserve Additional Slots for group members.  Type in the number of volunteers you will be bringing   We understand this number is an estimate.  That is fine.
  • Confirm the shift date and time you selected.  
  • Press Finish.  You have now created your group and are signed up to volunteer.

How to Access, Manage and Add Others To Your Group

• Click your profile image or the initials from the top menu bar. 
• Select My User Groups.
• Once in the My User Groups area, review and manage your roster of attendees.
• Click the pencil icon under the Options column.
• After you click the pencil icon from the My User Groups, it opens a new window.  This window will have the most current list of .  Only group leaders will have the pencil icon.
• Once there, you can export a list of the members to a CSVCopy or you can copy a Join Link to share with others so they can add themselves to your group.  This not required to sign up your group.
• Contact volunteernow@arcminnesota.org if you believe you were supposed to be assigned as the user group leader.

If you need assistance signing up a group, please complete the Group Volunteer Interest Form Below.  Completion of this form does not guarantee a reservation.  Once your group has been signed up, a confirmation email will be sent to the Group Lead.  The Group Lead then forwards the email to all volunteers who will be participating.
